Once upon a time, back in the good old days of the Soviet Union, there were three “stepping stones” that one needs to perform in order to be a full-fledged Communist party member. Step one: Young children had to participate in the “Young Pioneers” organization (roughly equivalent to the Cub Scouts in the U.S.). The organization is now defunct, but here is an image of 4 of the participants from a bygone era.
